Trinance

Privacy policy

Effective October 1, 2026

Trinance is a personal finance app for iPhone and Windows, published by Devpire ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data Trinance uses, where it goes and the choices you have. The short version: your finances live on your device, we keep as little as we can, and we never sell your data or show you ads.

What stays on your device

Everything you track in Trinance is stored in a file on your own device: accounts, balances, transactions, budgets, bills, goals, crypto holdings, notes and custom fields. We don't receive or store this data. If you set a PIN or turn on Face ID, they're checked on your device too.

If you export a backup (a .halcyon file), it goes wherever you choose to save or share it.

What our servers keep

You can use Trinance without an account. If you sign in to a Trinance account, our servers keep:

Like any website, our servers and our network provider (Cloudflare) briefly keep technical logs such as IP address and request times to keep the service secure and working.

Bank linking (Trinance Pro)

Trinance uses Plaid to connect to your bank. You sign in to your bank through Plaid, not through us, and we never see your bank password. When Trinance syncs, our server fetches your accounts, balances and transactions from Plaid and passes them straight to your device, where they're saved. We don't keep a copy. Plaid's handling of your data is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. You can unlink a bank at any time in the app.

The AI assistant (Trinance Pro)

When you ask the assistant a question, your device sends your question with a short summary of your finances (for example account names and balances, category totals, bills and goals) to our server, which passes it to Google's Gemini API to write the answer. We don't store your questions, the summary or the answers. Google processes them under its Gemini API terms. The assistant only runs when you use it.

Payments

On iPhone, subscriptions are sold by Apple through the App Store. On Windows, payments are handled by Stripe. They process your payment details under their own privacy policies and tell us only what we need to give you Trinance Pro.

Prices and news

To show crypto prices, markets and exchange rates, Trinance requests public data from providers such as CoinGecko, Yahoo Finance, CNBC, Dow Jones and Frankfurter. These requests come from your device and don't include any of your financial data, though the provider can see your IP address, as with any website. News in the app comes from our server.

Feedback and support

If you send feedback or a bug report from the app, we receive your message, any contact address you add and, if you leave diagnostics on, basic technical details such as the app version and device model. The app shows you exactly what's included before you send. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can reply.

What we don't do

How long we keep data

We keep your account data while your account exists. When you delete your Trinance account (More → Trinance account → Delete account), we remove your account, signed-in devices and linked banks from our servers, and tell Plaid to disconnect your banks. Data on your device stays until you delete the app or the profile.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the data we hold about you, and you can object to how we use it. Wherever you live, email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU, UK or California you have these rights by law, and you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Trinance isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Security

Connections to our servers are encrypted. Bank access keys are encrypted at rest, and sign-in codes and tokens are stored only as hashes. No system is perfectly secure, so we also keep what we store to a minimum.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app.
